About SPORK

The open access online journal SPORK publishes articles that reflect a wide range of student perspectives from various disciplines at Johannes Gutenberg University (JGU). The journal thus promotes interdisciplinary exchange and makes student research at JGU accessible to a broad audience.

Authorship and target audience

SPORK is aimed at bachelor's and master's students in all subjects who wish to submit their term papers, theses, seminar results, or other research-oriented contributions in revised form. The target audience includes anyone interested in the respective topic, both from an academic context and the general public.

Scope

The journal accepts unsolicited submissions and publishes special thematic issues at irregular intervals. These special issues may have their own editors, such as lecturers who aim to publish in SPORK as a final goal within the framework of project-oriented teaching. Representatives of student conferences or entire departments also have the opportunity to design their own thematic issues. The editorial team is available to advise on the implementation of such projects – please feel free to contact us if you are interested.

The journal distinguishes between 9 different types of contributions:
